SUBMIT YOUR WORKSHOP TO THE LOCAL SECTION

The International Drama in Education Research Institute (IDIERI) at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom is calling for submissions from scholars and practitioners for its new Local Section at the National Institute of Education, Singapore. The conference theme navigates mess and complexity in uncertain times: values, practices, methods and impacts, and invites applied theatre and drama in education scholars to deliver in-person workshops locally (from 9th to 11th July 2022) before feeding back to a global network of delegates online in the 10th conference from July 10th to 15th 2022.

IDIERI’s primary role is to enable scholars to share cutting-edge research within the interdisciplinary fields Education Studies and Theatre and Performance Studies. Importantly, IDIERI is a flagship conference in which delegates often choose to share research through practice-led workshops. It is in such ‘open-space’ (Monk et al, 2011) that interdisciplinary connections can be made. However, if IDIERI is only accessible to those who can attend in person at Warwick in July, then those joining online will miss out on the collaborative and idea-generating experiences of the workshop programme.

They have used the disruption caused by Covid-19 as an opportunity to reimagine conference participation through the Local Section: A pioneering idea for participation that privileges practice and global south-north exchange.

They feel that there are rich and insightful contributions at the National Institute of Education, Singapore and hope that you will submit your proposal for a workshop by the deadline to join us at IDIERI 10.
