In this workshop, participants will be introduced to effective speech and drama knowledge and skills, which they can use as a teaching tool in all subject areas to improve motivation, comprehension and retention from their own students. In addition, participants (in particular, non-theatre teachers) will gain confidence in using drama through fun, easy, and effective drama activities. 

About the Facilitator

Amy J Cheng is the Creative Director of ACT 3 Theatrics. Since 2012, she is continuing to create and develop drama programmes. She is a drama educator for pre-schoolers, poly students, persons with special needs. She also trains teachers in drama education. Amy graduated with an Honours Degree in Mass Communications and a Graduate Diploma in Education at Murdoch University (Perth). She earned a distinction for Oral Communication (Grade 8) from the London College of Music Examinations and has completed a course by Social Service Institute for Working and Facilitating the Learning of Children with Special Needs in the Arts in 2014. 

As an actress, Amy garnered a Best Actress nomination at the 2001 Asian Television Awards and for Best Supporting Actress at the 2006 Life! Theatre Awards. Her recent International project includes Warner Brothers’ Production of Crazy Rich Asians, as Jacqueline Ling.

Level Up! Fest 2023

Level Up! Fest 2023 is a two-day learning festival specially curated for the Drama CCA Instructors and Teachers-in-charge. It will address some of the sector’s competency gaps, advance capabilities of educators and encourage the development of holistic Drama CCA experiences for students in today's world.

This year, Level Up! Fest is presented in partnership with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), LASALLE College of the Arts (LASALLE) and National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NIE NTU, Singapore).

Gain new knowledge and strategies from 6 workshops designed and facilitated by faculty members from NAFA School of Arts Management, Dance & Theatre, LASALLE School of Dance and Theatre and NIE NTU Visual and Performing Arts Academic Group. From introductory programmes to in-depth skills development workshops, there is something for everyone!
